As I sit not he tube to work, I reminisce over the day you were born, the 13 hour labour, the trips to the hospital in between, Daddy panicking what t-shirt to bring with him (hehe) and being on all fours in hallway talking to the paramedic.

I want ant to ensure that I never forget these times, for this was on the most exciting times of our lives, knowing that we were soon to meet you and all we had to do was get through the pain over a period of hours, no matter how painful or long, you would soon be within our arms.

It was a World Cup rugby match the day before at Wembley and me and Daddy were so excited to be going, especially mummy as I was going to watch NZ and the hucca - I love watching that and the way they eye up their enemy without fear, feeling totally irresistible. What an amazing feeling that must be. Apart from feeling heavy on my swollen feet, and like a giant balloon, I felt absolutely fine. We knew your head was down but wasn't sure whether it was engaged. People said to me 'oh...you'll onow when you're nearly due as you'll be able to feel the head low and you'll develop a waddle'. That's rubbish, as had neither! After the game, it was late so we decided to grab a bite to eat in Strada's in the village. I remember not feeling very hungry so ordered a chicken salad - I think I even recall them missing out the pine nuts so asking for the missing addition.

It was 1 o'clock in the morning when I woke feeling like I'd had a slight accident and feeling annoyed that I had to get up to changed my pyjamas. Up I got, and fiddled around half a sleep changing in to a clean pair of pyjama bottoms. Went to bed I went only to to realise that as I lay down that I was wet yet again. Darn, I thought to myself. Feeling annoyed that I appeared to lose all bladder control. As this came with the territory of pregnancy I got up yet again and stumbled half a sleep back in to the bathroom. As I took my pyjama bottoms off a small trickle of fluid dripped on to the floor. As I stood there wondering what it was, Daddy called out to check I was ok. Not sure I responded. Immediately he was at the bathroom door. We wondered whether it could have been my waters breaking but I felt fine, so Daddy called the hospital who advised that I went in to check. It felt like all systems go, the day had arrived to grab the bag with your little things in and shoot to the hospital, both oblivious that it was likely to take some time and the bag would not be needed for a while. Upon arriving at the hospital at 2am. The midwife asked to exam me but no sooner had a taken my trousers off yet more fluid dripped to the floor - embarrassed, I offered to clean it up. Why, I don't know as they must see it all the time! They confirmed there was no need to exam me as it was clear that my waters had broke and when this happens in early labour it's usually a sign that the contractions will be soon to follow.

to be continued....
