Daddy and I went for our 21 weeks scan last week and decided to find out whether you were going to have a new brother or sister. To our delight we were told that baby is a little boy. 

It was strange because as soon as baby appeared on the big screen I could see the resemblance between you both at that age and knew instantly he was a boy - followed by undisclosed bits when his legs were being measured. Dad and I took a sudden glance at each other and without words seemed to communicate that he was a little boy before the doctor confirmed it.

It has got us very excited, wondering whether he will look like you, have a similar personality, the same toes etc. 

It does make us sad that as brothers you will never get the opportunity to play together but we know your spirit will live on through him and us.  

Your little brother is due 2 days before your due date, 6 October so let's wait and see whether he decides to make an early appearance like you!

I'm back at work, 7 weeks in now and although it's been tough it has been a good distraction. It's weird planning my next maternity leave when having just returned from maternity but let's hope for a happier ending this time.
