To my dear first born Lucas,

Happy 2nd birthday in heaven. 

Your birth will always be remembered as a momentous occasion that fills me with such pride and achievement, as it was the day you entered our world and made us incredibly proud parents. 

Another year has past and I still often wonder what you might have looked like in your party outfit, and the excitement presented on your face as you opened your birthday presents and blew out your candles. 

I refuse to let my mind take me to a place which I know will bring sorrow and sadness as this day should be a day of celebration, remembering and laughing about the good times; e.g. nearly giving birth on the living room floor, your hair styled so perfectly with white tips which was commented on by all the nurses. The tantrums you'd have being naked yet as soon as a camera came in to view they would suddenly stop, lol. 

This year, though absence your legacy has continued to make huge contributions to not only our lives but others; family, friends and strangers. Your legacy has raised nearly £78.000 which is absolutely astounding, and makes me extremely proud of you. I wish I were able to say this personally to you but unfortunately it's not impossible so I can only hope that you are out there somewhere listening as I read this aloud.
