Story
In just over three weeks on 7th April, I will be running the Brighton Marathon to raise money for Children with Cancer in memory of Lucas Sidney Alleebux. Lucas was born on 21st September 2015 to my friends Kez and Clair. At just 3 weeks old they noticed that Lucas could not move one side of his face and following a precautionary MRI scan, their world came crashing down when Lucas was diagnosed with a rare brain tumour. The Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid (ATRT) tumour is extremely rare with very little is known about it. Lucas lost his brave battle with this terrible illness at just 7 weeks old. Children with Cancer has links to Great Ormond Street Hospital where Lucas was treated. It is the leading national children's charity dedicated to the fight against childhood cancer. After the blood, sweat and blisters over the last five months of training, I wanted to take the opportunity to contribute to such a worthy cause and I feel honoured to do so in memory of Lucas.
