Story

In April this year, I will be running the London Marathon to raise money for Children with Cancer in memory of Lucas Sidney Alleebux. Little Lucas was born on 21 September 2015 to my friends, Kez and Clair. At just 3 weeks old they noticed that Lucas could not move one side of his face and following a precautionary MRI scan, their world came crashing down when Lucas was diagnosed with a rare brain tumour. The Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid (ATRT) tumour is extremely rare with very little known about it and research is ongoing. Lucas lost his brave battle with this terrible illness at just 7 weeks old.

Children with Cancer has links to Great Ormond Street Hospital where Lucas was treated. It is the leading national children's charity dedicated to the fight against childhood cancer; funding life-saving research into the causes, prevention and treatment of cancer. I feel honoured to have the opportunity to contribute to such a worthy cause in memory of little Lucas.

This will be my first marathon and I am starting to realise that it will be just as much a mental challenge as physical. Fitting training in around two little ones is also a task in itself! I am very grateful for any donations my friends and family would like to make so a big big thank you from me xx
